All our pieces feature mortise and tenon joinery on solid wood frames, solid wood drawers, ball bearing glides (bedroom collections), and special features like microfiber lining on top drawers of bedroom case-pieces. With an experienced operation specialized in hand-crafted, old-world looks, you can make sure you are obtaining the best value in hand-crafted, unique pieces.
Our environmental efforts
Over the last couple of years, we have been vertically integrating our company even more by adding several automatic mills and two Italian Kiln dryers, which enables us to source different types of woods. This keeps our raw material sourcing unique and our product line fresh. For instance, products made under our sustainable woods collections are handcrafted from Mango wood. This timber comes from the Pacific and Atlantic coasts of Mexico. IFD recently purchased dozens of acres of Mango tree farm lands that were no longer productive for the food industry and turned them into beautiful furniture pieces. By taking advantage of other industry's by-products we lower the impact in our environment. This wood has a beautiful grain and its natural color varies depending on the richness of the soil where each tree grows.
We invite you to be part of the IFD family and experience our products!

It was just after World War II that Ken Leister started a modest business repairing and refinishing antique furniture in a two-story garage. He was soon joined by his brother, Roger, and in 1953 they turned their woodworking skills to creating beautiful antique reproductions.
During the next three decades, the Leister brothers built a national reputation for their traditionally styled pine collections for every room in the home. By the mid-Eighties, responding to changes in the marketplace and in consumer preferences, they created a new niche for Leisters Furniture, specializing in occasional tables crafted in solid hardwoods. The success of this new direction is reflected in the continued expansion of their manufacturing facilities, which today occupy over 100,000 square feet in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
Roger retired from the business in 1987 and turned the company over to Ken and Ken's son Tom. Since Ken's passing in 2008, Tom, now president of the company, proudly carries on the more than 60-year tradition of Leisters authentic styling and quality workmanship.
After graduating from high school in 1976, Lyndon's founder David Allard started working out of a fieldstone house he was building for his parents, making custom cabinets and furniture. David constructed his first woodworking shop in Lyndon, VT from timber he cut from the family farm and had milled locally.
Over the years, seven additions have been built on the original building and two more factories have been added, bringing the total to over 140,000 square feet of production space and employing approximately 80 crafts people. In 2000, David was recognized as the "Vermont Small Business Person of the Year" by the Small Business Association. An honor which he says belongs as much to his employees as to himself.
